For each of the different tempos and instrument there are a variety of mixes to help you learn the tines and then enjoy playing them. The name of each recording indicates the name of the tune, the speed of the recording and its type - for example 'GoldrushLearningBanjoSoloAdv' is a recording of the Advanced Banjo solo for Gold Rush, played on its own.

The main mix types that you will find are as follows;

Solo Mixes

These are recordings of the instrument playing on its own, with no backing. In some lessons you will find two separate Solo mixes, one playing the simple version of the tune or solo, and another playing the Advanced version. These recordings will match what you find on the accompanying Tab or Notation.

'With instrument' Mixes

You will find recordings that feature each of the instruments - for example GoldrushSlowJamWithGuitar (Gold Rush Slow Jam recording, featuring the Guitar). In each of these there is a full band playing, with the featured instrument taking the breaks and playing the tune, to show you how it should be played. The tunes and solos will match the transcriptions in the Tab or Notation.

'Without instrument' Mixes

In each of the different speeds you will find recordings without the featured instrument, which allows you to play along with the rest of the band. The performance speed mixes are at the full 'live' tempo, and are just like playing with a real band!. The arrangements are exactly the same as the 'With Instrument' version, but with your chosen instrument left out.

'With backup' Mixes

In some of the tunes, the performance mixes include 'with backup' mixes - e.g. GoldrushPerformanceWithBanjoBackup (Gold Rush performance featuring Banjo Backup). in these mixes, the chosen instrument is accompanying rather than soloing, but has been made louder in the mix to give you an example of what sort of accompaniment, or backup to play to the tune.
