Anyone know what mandolins the instructors are playing on the lesson mp3's. You never get any good headstock shots on the videos

Jonathan
If my memory serves me correctly, Butch Baldassari was using a Gibson Lloyd Loar (lucky guy!) and Matt Flinner has an old Gilchrist. I've emailed all of the instructors for further information, and will post it as it comes in.
Cheers
Andy

Here's Mike Compton's reply:
"Well hell, I don't know what mandolins everyone uses, but I use a 2002 Gilchrist F5, a 2003 Gilchrist F4, a 1940's Old Kraftsman 'florentine'.
You've caught me heading to Japan for two weeks. I'll eat a bowl of ramen for you.
So there you have it!!"

And finally, Andy Leftwich....
"I use a 1991 Steve Gilchrist mandolin. Hope all is well!"
Lots of Gilchrists then....

And Matt's reply:
"I play a 1993 Gilchrist Model 5. I was essentially a beginner when I bought it, and upon purchasing it I was instantly transformed into a professional level player without any practice."
