I'm a dobro player... but I'm working on Lonesome Moonlight Waltz. Am I hearing it wrong or is there an error in the 2nd measure, 2nd note in Part A Easier solo? I also am wondering why he has you play the 1st string open then on the third string when it would be easier to play the 4th string 3rd fret where your finger already is with the Dm chord.

?

I love this college and really hope it doesn't go away.

Utterly confused by the dobro/banjo thing, I passed your question to Brad Talley - the dobro player! Nice guy that he is, he says

"I listened to the banjo with the banjo tab and he's correct. Tony has a 0 when it should be 2."

I will however pass the question on to Tony as well....

in the 2nd (Advanced solo) part, measure 4, the 5th string sure sounds like it's tuned to an A. Am I missing something here? Maybe this is a different tuning?

Like I said I'm not a banjo player!

I wondered who "he" was... I'm a she! My dobro playing rooster might have thrown you off.

This song is friggin' beautiful!!! I'm going to learn the dobro part.. I'm just learning the banjo to teach it to someone else but I love it!!!

OK he's got the 5th string capoed to A. It's a shame how long it took me to figure that out. the 5th string is never played in the easy solo, that's my excuse. In the 2nd (advanced) it's capoed at A and he also frets it at 12.

L M W the ongoing saga.

OK I'm wrong. He does play the 5th string in the easy solo and it's tuned to G. So I reckon he puts the string on the capo to go to the 2nd part????
