I'm just starting out with the Dobro and while I'm enjoying the info and lessons here, I'd like to sit with a local instructor now and then. I'm hoping an instructor can add some structure to the learning process and nip any developing bad habits in the bud. Does anyone know of a local instructor in the Nashville area?
I've been playing Dobro over five years (regular guitar for over 25 years). I've been to 8 + bluegrass workshops. By far the best instructor is Michael Witcher. He currently plays with Missy Raines and the New Hip and he has authored two books on playing the Dobro. He lives in Nashville and he also has lessons online (through Skype) , so check out his website. If you can get a lesson with Mike, you won't be disappointed.
