I have just started out learning to play the banjo and I have been searching the internet looking for some quality instructional DVDs to buy.

Some of the free video clips on YouTube are Good, some are Bad and some are downright Ugly... And I would like to call on your experience for some advice.

Whilst many of the Free Lessons proport to be instructional very few of the video's I have watched actually explain which strings are being played and in which sequence. The best one I have seen so far is Banjo in the Hollow - Murphy Method. However the vast majority simply play the music slowly and it is not always easy to pick up what is actually happening.

I am hoping you guys can offer a word of advice on which videos to buy and which to avoid. I wish to avoid Frailing and Clawhammer and favour Earl Scruggs style..

Also, Ross Nickerson has some great lessons available. He wrote The Banjo Encyclopedia which is one of the best investments you can make. It comes with an audio CD. He also has a lot of great downloads. His downloads are here:
